About 6kms away from Zhaoxing, Jitang is a Dong village and situated on a high mountain.
Jitang is a large village which includes Xintang village, Tangming village and Zhaigao village. In the front of the village is the spectacular terraced fields.

　　There are 3 drum towers in the village, one in Tangming, the other two in Xintang, all is made of wood without any nails. The most spectacular one is in Tangming village. The drum towers in Jitang are provincial level protection units, they are 5, 9 and 11 stories.

　　The first drum tower in Jitang was built in 1538 in the Ming dynasty, after that, the drum towers were destroyed during the culture revolution, so the new 3 drum towers were built in the winter of 1980.

　　Drum tower became a place for villager gathering, festival activities such as playing Lusheng, dancing. Of course the 22 seat bus or other smaller cars can get to the village, but the road from Zhaoxing to Jitang is very bad.

　　In general, Jitang village is beautiful, less tourists have been there, the village looks less spoiled by tourists, the landsacpe on the way from Zhaoxing to Jitang is pretty, and there is a short cut, so it's suitable for a half day hiking tour.
